On the application, do you put down an activity/sports season if the sports season has not yet occurred, but you'll definitely participate in it?
For example, I know I will continue to be on the tennis team this year, but the season doesn't start until spring. Can I still mark "Grade 12" for tennis even though technically it hasn't happened yet?
Also, I've been in All-State Orchestra for the past two years, and most likely this year as well, so can I just put that down for Grade 12 even though we won't know of our admission until December?

Yes, you can.

NO, you can not.

I would say yes to the tennis team and no to the all-state orchestra.
Anything that requires acceptance before admission should not be put down unless you're already admitted.

Does your tennis team have tryouts or is it everybody who joins?

It's varsity tennis, so yes there's tryouts. But you're guaranteed a spot if you made varsity before. Hmm...

Hmm..I'm wondering if I should put "JV Basketball" on my list though the team is chosen in February and tryouts are before. I was part of it last year, though...

DD had the same question. She put YES for swim team (this will be her fourth year on the team). She did not indicate 12th grade participation for the auditioned music festivals.

You could always write that you will try out or audition for something. I think that would be like saying you plan on getting better grades. It is more important to have a complete list of what you have already done and accomplished.
