Application Submission Issue

<p>I submitted my application last night before the midnight deadline, but when I logged in to the common app website this morning, it said it had not been submitted, and it would not let me submit it for the 11/1 deadline anymore. I'm not sure what happened. I submitted it and just left it labeled regular decision. I guess I'll just email the admissions office and explain the difficulty?</p>

<p>You had to submit all three parts of the application before the deadline. We even built in a grace period, which gave everyone until midnight on the west coast this year. There was a help button to hit if anything went wrong. </p>

<p>I received a confirmation email from common application for the payment, the supplement, and the common application itself and it displayed the status as submitted last night. Now it doesn’t.</p>

<p>i have an issue somewhat similar to this – my Counselor sent in my transcript/recommendation 4 days before I submitted my app. This was pretty much my fault because I was supposed to finish the app before I gave him the paperwork telling him to send my credentials, but the supplement took me a little longer than expected. I know the SIS website says that it might be 3-4 weeks before those two items are removed from my “to do” list, but how will I know if UVa even got them? Also, the fact that the deadline is 11/10 kind of scared me. Don’t wanna miss it!</p>

<p>The submission deadline is 11/10. Back in the day, people understood that deadlines were “postmark” deadlines. I guess since everyone submits online, they don’t understand that anymore. :)</p>

<p>The point is that those are the dates by which the items must be sent to use, not necessarily checked in.</p>

<p>If an application to UVA was identified in the common app as having been “downloaded” in late October, when should one expect an email from UVA about credentials to the UVA application website?</p>

Once you submit all three parts of your application (the Common App, Supplement, and payment must be submitted for anything to be sent to us from the Common App system), it will take a couple days of processing to prompt a login email for UVa’s Student Information System (SIS) to be sent to you. The email is coming from <a href=“mailto:uvaapplicationinfo@virginia.edu”>uvaapplicationinfo@virginia.edu</a>. Add that address to your contact list so the email doesn’t go into your junk/spam folder. Just follow the directions in the email and log into our system successfully. You can do it!

Credentials may be in our system, but not yet linked to your file. It may take a couple weeks to get through all the applications submitted in these last few days, so please be patient! If your transcript arrived a while ago, it was scanned and put in a miscellaneous credentials file. A script and/or a staff member must link that transcript to your newly submitted application. This can take a little time.</p>

<p>We will contact you when we are through the bulk of the processing if we are still missing documents. Do not send duplicates of any credentials unless we contact you asking for them. Don’t worry about those status pages right now.
