Well considering people who have applied in September and October still have not received a decision, many of which have excellent grades and test scores,it’s hard to say. Her application was only completed yesterday so she will most likely not hear back for at least a few weeks. If she’s lucky, maybe by early december?? There’s no way to determine when someone will received their decision… For early response, it is only guaranteed by December 24. And when you say very strong stats, what are they??

4.0 U.W. in ‘most rigorous’ curriculum, 790/780/770 SAT1, 800/790/780/740/740 SAT2, APs:5/5/5/4, six more APs in senior year. Good ECs with national awards. Good letters and essays. Hoping to hear before RD deadlines. Mid Dec would be perfect.

For OOS, UMich is only a safety if you already have an acceptance. If she doesn’t have an acceptance by the RD deadlines, she will have to expand her list to include some real safeties.

I would like to add that despite a higher acceptance rate, as a university, UMich is about as good as her super-reach schools: Harvard and Yale.

Good luck to all those waiting for results.

Forgive me for the harsh response. All I’m saying is that your daughter should have absolutely no worries about getting in. As far as timelines for admission go, if everything was completed today, I’d venture to say she’ll learn by the earliest mid-late December, and at the latest early January. Best of luck to her.

Did the transcript get sent by Nov 1? Wolverine Access always shows that it was received later than it actually was. If it was sent by the ER deadline, your daughter will hear by Dec 24. Probably sooner.
