so, I've submitted my ED application.
what should I expect, communication wise, from NYU between now and when I receive my decision?

there's actually much to do. after a 5-7 days you should double-check with the admissions office that they have your transcripts and recommendations (and any other material that the college requires, ex. tisch portfolio). You may also want to check if the application is actually filed and received by the admissions office. You can do that by calling the admissions office or asking them on the admissions bulletin. im not sure about the common app but if you used their online application (Embark) you should receive about 3-5 e-mails confirming your application was received. i believe, as i remember, the first two are basically sent when you started the application and the last 3 are used for confirming the application.

be sure to send your college transcripts (if you have taken college courses during your high school career) and 2 SAT subject scores!

if you got waitlisted, it is likely they will e-mail you. if so, you have have to apply for a spot on the waitlist and sent an e-mail reminding them of your continued interest and your fitness to your chosen program (optional but it helps i think)

It didnt say on embark to send transcripts, at least I dont think it did, and if it did, I missed it.
will this screw my chances for ED?

you didn't send in your grades?

I would assume that would be a fairly large problem.

Your high school should have sent your transcript out with the counselour's report...

all my counselor gave me was her letter of rec and the forms they made her fill out.
She did include my GPA, though.

should I call NYU?

call and i would say fax a transcript ASAP.
its on the checklist for admissions
like its CRUCIAL

checklist where?
oh god, now I am worried.
everything else is in, and I swear to god I never saw it ask for a transcript.

fax the transcript and also mail the transcript asap. the faster you get them in, the faster they can start checking your application before any spots / quota is filled.

the checklist is on the admissions website
NYU > Undergraduate Admissions > Applying for Admission > Freshman Applicants > Application Checklist
