Application Timing

I read through PreMed Resources Sticky but I didnt get the exact answer I wanted.

I am a bit confused about the timing of applications. Some of the medical school websites i visited said you need 90 credit hours to be eligible while others said you needed a bachelors degree to apply. Assuming i want to apply after Junior Year, does this mean I could not apply to those colleges that require the completion of a bachelors degree? Or do they just want a completed degree before enrollment at the med school?

If my understanding is correct, if i apply after senior year then i would basically waste a year. In contrast, applying after junior year would allow me to start med school right after senior year.

Thank You

You only need to complete degree before enrollment at the med school.

What you wrote in the last paragraph is correct.

I don’t think a single med school requires a degree at the time of application. Some of the website are probably listing their matriculation requirements where you will need a degree (for the vast majority. I think there are a few schools that theoretically would let someone enroll without one but that’s an exception reserved for the really really really exceptional - think zuckerberg/gates exceptional except in medicine instead of tech)
