“The program is not available because this option is not open to students in your year level”
When I’m applying to UBC Vancouver and I select my Degree program as Bachelors of Computer Science it gives me the above message and I am not able to proceed with my application. To all that I can understand by this message is that I do not qualify for the program as I am graduating too late from my High-School so I went back and changed my graduating date (which is actually July of 2016) to 2015 to just check it out but even then it gives the same message and i am stuck. Also I do not receive this message when i select some other degree program instead of this.
If anyone has applied to the same Degree program before, could you please help me out. I really need to finish myt application before 10th of December to be considered for Merit Based Scholarships.
Thanks!
If you had read the UBC website you would have seen that the Bachelor of Computer Science program is a second degree program for university graduate:

You need to apply to the BA or BSc in computer science.
Thanks for answering first of all!
But there is no specific BSc Computer Science option in the degree selection drop down menu. And the BSc only has general as specialization option thus am not able to select Computer Science at all.
@Balthazor Hey had the same problem, apparently you enter undeclared into either BA or BSC, so choose if you want BSC cs or a BA in CS. And choose the Bachelor of Arts/Sciences, only.
in UBC you need to take a general science program before taking comp sci, an alternative would be choosing a BCommerce and choosing the computer science option.
On a side note, you should know that if you’re nominated for the International Leader of Tomorrow award (the one you need to submit before december 10th for) you can’t get the IMES or OIS international merit awards, even if you don’t get the ILOT award. Do some research and you’ll find it.
Best of luck
