Application withdrawn due to not meeting GPA requirement as psychology major...

I just found out I didn’t get into the only school I wanted to go to and the only school I applied to. I am dearly devastated & am desperate for possible solutions. Will an appeal work if reasons are financial hardship and the fact that I am a full time student that works two jobs? I had a 2.55 GPA…2.75 was the threshold for admit for psychology. My GPA will go up by the end of Spring 2015.

Here is the letter of my application withdrawn:
Dear Transfer applicant,

We have reviewed the information you provided on your Fall 2015 CSUMentor application. I regret to inform you that you did not meet the admission impaction standard for applicants to San José State University.

Specifically, your self-reported GPA did not meet the minimum GPA required for the major you selected on your application. For a list of major-specific impaction standards please see: http://info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/impaction.html

In order to maintain the integrity of a fair admission process we can only consider information regarding your academic performance provided at the time of application during the admission review. For more detailed information regarding our process for appealing this decision, please read the “Submit an Appeal” section below.

SJSU is an impacted campus and for Fall 2015, we experienced a high demand for limited space. We know that this information is disappointing; however, we urge you to seek out and accept offers you might receive from other campuses.

I would think it not likely: “In order to maintain the integrity of a fair admission process we can only consider information regarding your academic performance provided at the time of application during the admission review”.

Unfortunately they have a lot of competition for that major and they are looking for the top students.

Is it fair that you have to work and to study and others don’t? No. But a college can’t know if would do better if you were not working.

Two solutions: either you spend one more semester at your community college and apply in the summer or the Fall, or you look for another 4-year college that you can afford (do CSus still accept transfer applications? If not for Fall, perhaps for Spring 2016?)
In general, it’s not a good idea to apply to just one university, especially if your chosen program makes it a reach - even if it were a match (ie., if you had a 2.75 and they wanted 2.75) this would only be a a 50-50 chance.
