When you apply thru Questbridge, do you still have to go thru the school's application, or only if matched by the school?

When you apply to QuestBridge, there are three possible outcomes:

You are Matched with a school you listed, which means you are admitted and done with applications; so that’s when you do NOT have to use the school’s application.

You are chosen as a Finalist, which means QB will forward your QB app to colleges that you request; most colleges require that you fill out their app or the common app and supplements in addition to the QB application, although some, such as MIT and Parsons, do not require any other application. All finalists qualify for application fee waivers to all QB schools. This is a list of what is needed from finalists for each school:

You are not matched or a finalist; even then some schools will accept the QB app instead of requiring the common app AND will waive application fees (Amherst and Grinnell, for example). Non-finalist requirements will also be listed in the above link.

Even the schools that will take the QB app still require that you complete their supplements, however.
Also, most schools encourage you to use your QB essays for the Common App, so even if you have to do the common app, you don’t need to write more essays.

Thank you!
That’s exactly what I wanted to know :)
