Application?

So… I received a booklet from UPenn in the mail today. It included an application (complete with two teacher recommendation forms).

I thought UPenn was switching to the common application this year? (A supplement to the common application is available at http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/forms/CommonSupplement.pdf)

Or does this just mean that they are giving us the option of either 1) completing their application, or 2) completing the common application and the supplement?

Thanks for any info! :)

you choose what you want to do: common app or Penn app

If you have spare time, I recommend doing the Penn app..as annoying as it was, I think the app tells you a little bit about the school and is a lot more personalized. It's too easy to not make the common app too general. In the same way that people usually change their resume a little bit for each company they apply to, I think it makes sense to change your app a little based on the college. There are certain things you might want to highlight at different schools, etc.

Plus, even though they say they dont differentiate between common and Penn apps, they're human too. Subconsciously, it'll seem like you're more interested if you use the Penn app.

Just my thoughts.

Thank you both for the input. I figured we could choose either application, but I just wanted to make sure. ;)

And I agree completely, eighteenforluck. I have the paper UPenn application that they sent me- but their website says their application will be available online next month. I guess I'll complete that. Colleges seem to like online applications better than paper ones, don't you think?

Thanks again! :)

when would UPenn release the form 6 financial aid form and when is the best time to send in form 1a?

Does anyone know the answer to my question? ^^^^^^^^^^^6
