As explained in a press release from Miami University on Jan 27, 2009. Both Ohio and out of state applications are up 14%, with significant increases in minority and international applicants. Next fall's incoming class will also be at least 225 students smaller, with a cap of 3,500. This equates to roughly 17,000 applicants for 3,500 available seats in the class of 2013. Based upon historic yield (% of accepted students deciding to attend), this means that Miami will accept no more than 70% of applicants and as low as 66%.

Wow! 14% increase is huge! Where did you read that?

It was in an article in the online version of the Miami Student only, the student newspaper.

The Miami Student: MU sees increase in applications.

Im a intl. transfer student. As what I can c from our Chinese forum, therez really a lot increasing applicants applied to MUOHIO this yr, but most of them r freshmen applicants, dont know if that affect transfer or not.

Miami University is very interested in BOTH freshman and transfer international students. I don't have any data on the number of international transfer students applying to Miami, but I'm quite confident you'll get serious consideration. The admissions department has been very public in stating their desire to aggressively recruit international students, so I don't think you are at any disadvantage. Good luck!

um, question....doesn't MU have ED? anybody know those #'s? or has it been eliminated?

Yes, Miami University has ED. Details here: Miami University: Undergraduate Admission: Application Deadlines
