applications over. what now?

So, finally the stress for many of us is over. What do we do now till March 10th? Talk about the admission processes and surf the school websites every day? ._. God, that seems like a long long time... :P I just feel so empty right now, without the applications going on :P

Do you listen to music? I suggest making a 2014 BS Applicant Playlist. Everyone contributes three favorite songs. Recently over on a parent thread we did something similar and it was a lot of fun. Just a thought.

I tried telling myself that I would forget about the application the minute I sent it. That’s not gonna happen. I keep doing more research about Exeter. I will try to focus on my midterms and start freaking out on march 9th.

How about planning for the summer? Any interesting volunteer possibilities, coursework, independent study or projects?

My plan is to play sports that I couldn’t play enough of when I was completing applications and staying home studying for SSAT .

I really do like PhotographerMom’s idea. It would help everyone get to know each other a bit better, but without completely exposing our identities

That would be cool, as if we get in, it would be really awesome if we became friends.

and… RockComet, the stress isn’t over, it’s just starting.

@mrnephew I second that. Sooooo much stress right now. My stress levels are probably off the charts right now.

Exactly how I feel. It’s amazing how much one can go through in a two month period.

The human body is quite amazing, isn’t it? And to begin the list of three favorite songs form each person, I’ll give mine. I’m a jazz-guy, so my favorites are:

  1. Are You Real by Art Blakey
  2. The Way You Look Tonight by Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins, and
  3. Loose Walk by Dexter Gordon
    Hopefully others will continue the list!

I can’t really recommend any songs, but check out Vitamin String Quartet; I listened to them when I wrote up my essays.

I’ve loved Hey There Delilah since I first heard it forever ago, and just downloaded it last night. I also love All Too Well by Taylor Swift, and Beautiful by Ben Rector.

My plan over these two months is to become a better sax player, work on my strength for baseball, and keep my mind of M10. Whenever I max-out on weights and get stuck, I always remind myself of how angry I was at being WL’d last year at both schools. The adrenaline starts flowing. One time, doing power-cleans, I yelled out “EXETER”. That got me some weird looks, but it worked.

I just hum American Pie to myself most of the time. Love that song, CTY was one of the greatest times of my life.

@mrnephew
I went to CTY this summer! I had the greatest experience and met awesome new friends. I was nice being able to meet fellow geeks.

Some songs that are really good are:

  • Loud Pipes by Ratatat
  • Giving Up The Gun by Vampire Weekend (But I suggest checking out all of their songs they’re really good)
  • Sleep Alone - Two Door Cinema Club

@mrnephew / @rareparadox: I went to CTY too! But only once, two summers ago… American Pie is literally my anthem hahaha and @rareparadox I love Vampire Weekend/Two Door Cinema Club!

First, I meant *it. not I was nice to be able to meet fellow geeks.

@violinjaa
Ezra Koenig is my official celebrity crush. Intelligent, talented, AND good looking? Someone help me before I pass out from too much swooning.

Yeah, CTY was a good time. When I got rejected from Andover last year, I listened to green day’s Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

Send me an angel by Scorpions. That song is just… out of this world ^______^
Just sing it like Send me an admission XD
