Byerly, Brown's number of applications went up last year.

I know, but by a very modest amount - 3.8%, I think. The point was that the ED schools got hurt a bit by increased apps to the EA schools such as Stanford and Yale, where apps rose much more than that last year.

I think the $100 mil donation is a big factor in terms of making it affordable. I know Brown had the reputation of being the poor ivy with bad finaid before, so personally I think it's the biggest factor.

Your analogy is so painful, legendofmax, but yea hearing about these increases makes me so sad. Do you think I have a shot at UVa?

Zante- I think you'll get into pretty much the rest of your schools- you've already gotten all of the bad luck out of the way! :)

And legend's analogy is painful... but that's okay because I'm getting into Brown anyway. I already decided that, so it has to happen. It's fated. :p

Calidan: Wish the same could be said for me in terms of luck :P

Well of course it can be said for you, too, legend. That rule is universally applicable! Bad luck ED = good luck RD (this doesn't work with EA, though).

That is severely depressing in every single aspect imaginable.

y doesnt it work with EA???

Because it's my rule and I had good luck EA! ;)

You can make up your own rules, though. This is just mine.

I have my brown interview today! >.<
I still get decently nervous even though I've done three interviews already.

I think about going to my gc and complaining about stress, just to complain, but I don't think she'd understand. I can blame her though if I don't get into college.

all hope is lost for me

Yeah, I think I've lost hope as well. Man, and Brown is my first choice, too. However, if I don't get in, I hope some deserving applicants make it.

Zante- good luck on your interview! At least you've had a lot of practice. ;)

And please- don't lose hope (anyone)! You always have a chance, so just try not to think about it. And I know that everyone who does or doesn't get into Brown is still a deserving person in general. :)

Thanks calidan!
I absolutely loved my interview! It was fantastic. My interviewer brought along his wife, who also went to Brown (they both did PLME and are now residents at NY hospital) and they were just so kind and sweet and down to earth and HAPPY! It made me feel so good about Brown. He also said that I'm "the perfect candidate" so that was very heartwarming and optimistic.

Awww you have such GOOD interviews. I've only had one, but it was soooooo bland.
