Applications up 21%

lol its because of the switch to common app

why not just add it to your college list if you already have more than half of the application already filled out, and can probably just recycle an essay for the supplement?
^^ thought process of the extra 5,000 applicants that applied (most likely)

gl all

I don't want to be a downer or anything but the previous estimate is a bit off...

If 2,828 is the actual number accepted then only about 2,278 will be accepted RD (550 ED)
So then 2,278/25,000 = .09

so 9% acceptance

Uh oh...

wow. thats where yale was last year, right?

But the 25,000 number includes those who applied ED. So, recalculate again.

(I think Acceptd calculation is correct for the overall acceptance rate.)

nope. can't do it anymore. lalalalalalala, i can't hear you!
a single digit acceptance rate is pretty scary. even scarier still will be the number not including ED. sighs well, worrying will just take up way too much energy. the only thing any of us can do is sit tight and hope for the best.

No, 25,000 is just RD
ED had 2,500 or something around that.

Scary...

But then on a good note...

They may accept more because kids will be comparing aid now more than ever and many of those 25000 are probably appying to tons of schools so the yield rate may differ

Nope, gk, that's just under 25,000 total applications.

oh wait, i didn't realize that gk had made the calculation excluding the ED applicants, which was what i was about to do. sighs that's pretty depressing, i must say...

dear brown,

i spoke to you in cautious tone, you answered me in no pretense. and still i feel i said too much, my silence is my self-defense. and every time i held a rose, it seems i only felt the thorns. and so it goes, and so it goes. and you're the only one who knows.

please, let me in.

love.

the prophet.

does that mean undergraduate applicants or graduate ones or both?

Undergraduate only.

I wonder what the new acceptance rate with be.
