Applications up about 10%

Admissions says more students have been already accepted to date and getting in off postpond list will be tougher. Make that second app as good as possible and retake the tests as indicated.

Ahh just the news I needed :(. I've done alot to up my chances (4.0 1st semester, great supplemental essays, another letter of rec from college class, a letter from myself, and continued contact with my admissions counselor) but now I'm really starting to worry. How adversely do you all think the boost in admissions will affect postponed students? Tomorrow is the first day that we could be notified.

I'd guess instead of about 50% getting in off the list maybe 35-40%.

The link you provided refers to freshman applications being up 11% for entering class 2006, not 2007. Are you possibly referring to something you saw elsewhere?

The University received 22,816 applications last year. The newsletter mentioned that this year application to date is already up 2,000 (based on the trend line). Simple math says 10%.

fabalyss21, just hang in there. You have done well as far as I can tell. I wish you didn't make those typos earlier on ... If you haven't done this, ask your dad to call his local UW alumni club to see if anyone can make a call to check on your application. Our board here in North Texas has a speed dial to the director of admission. :)

That was my read too lizbarr.

Thanks for the advice dallas. I've actually been in direct contact with my admissions counselor myself, but that's a good idea later on if I don't see results.
