Applied CompSci vs CompSci

Anyone know the difference in terms of the jobs you can get? From my understanding, ACS focuses more on how CS is applied to the real-world while CS focuses more on theory. But what does that mean in terms of getting certain jobs? I want to be a software engineer or computer programmer....would an ACS degree be able to help me get a job in that field or is CS better? Wanted to know since I was thinking about applying to Troy U, but they only offer ACS or CIS.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any and all responses would be appreciated :)

Edit: Can someone move this to the math/CompSci major section? I accidentally posted in the wrong spot.

I think you mean Applied Math and CS. The CS is more theoretical than the CS under engineering.
