so decisions are already made i think? its just a matter of when uva actually notifies us right....man our applications are probably just istting there in uva's admissions office in the "accepted" "deferred" or "rejected" piles

good point laxguy..

and as for not over-analyzing. we need to just enjoy senior year and stop worrying about it. they'll come out when they come out. its out of our hands now. just have some fun until then.

Since Dean J said we would'nt be notified Tomorrow, Monday, or Tuesday, then we must find out today!

..or saturday or sunday or wednesday or thursday or... FRIDAY (when it's actually supposed to come out!)

holy crap guys, i can't believe this whole thread is actually devoted to fretting over when decisions come out. yes, i'm anxious too, but there's just over a week left. patience is key.

My d is a second year, decisions were posted the day before Thanksgiving. She received hers in the mail the Sat. after thanksgiving.
In 2004 the day before Thanksgiving was Nov 24.

Remember that the deadline was extended to Nov 5th this year.

Relax, have a great weekend and start checking at the end of next week.

i haven't seen anything about anybody knowing how uva posts their decisions...

my friend says that it's just a STATUS: admitted / deferred / denied deal...so one word, not an online version of the letter or anything like that.

just a heads up for everyone, i mean i think one word is kind of harsh/finite, i'd much rather read a longer thing or something. maybe that's just me.

good luck everyone!

A short sentence shows up on the online accounts (not just one word). The formal letters will follow in the mail.

Last Year this is what my daughter received on 11/30; I will never forget the excitement she and I felt as we both kept logging in on separate computers in the house from 4:56-5:00....This is what she got:

Application Status: Offered Admission

We were both jumping up and down, screaming and crying! It was one of the happiest days of our lives!! (Her dad had not come home from work yet)
When he did, we did it all over again...Good luck everyone!!!

i'm so excited i found a forum where other people who went early to uva can worry together! i went for the E-school out of state, so i'm really nervous since apparantly they only accept about 500 total a year, with most of those instate...i'm chompin at the bit to find out...today i found out i got into GT which is great, but i won't be happy until i know i'm a hoo!

Not true. Last year they accepted 1192 to the e-school, or 56% of completed applications. The best odds of any UVa School.

is that because applicants to the e-school tend to be stronger? or is it just easier to get into?

couple the facts that the e-school gets fewer applications per spot and that UVa is trying to expand its e-school you'll get a high acceptance rate.

I can't really point you anywhere for this data, but I'm fairly certain that the average e-school SAT scores are higher than the average SAT scores for all the other schools at UVa. That points to a more self selecting group of people.

needless to say, i would be surprised if people in the e-school didn't get in had they applied to the college.

So I know all the diff boards do it...and I want to get a firm count and hopefully get to know future fellow students. so ill start
