Applied ED to Brown...chances?

<p>I know I’m the 400th kid to do this and that nobody can make an accurate judgement, especially without recs/essays, but I’m crapping my pants over this and would appreciate any help. Thanks.</p>

<p>Stats:</p>

<pre><code>* SAT: 2270; 750 reading, 720 math, 800 writing

  • SAT IIs: 720 french, 670 literature, 720 math 1, 670 amh
  • GPA: 3.58 freshman, 3.58 sophmore, 3.76 junior
  • Rank: my school doesn’t rank. i know my gpa is quite low by national standards, but at my school, it is actually quite high, as i go to a difficult new york private school.
  • Other stats: 4 on AP US; taking AP english, AP euro, AP french, AP latin, calc, art history, expository writing, and peer leadership this year in school.

<p>Subjective:</p>

  • Teacher Recs: one very dubious, one probably quite good. i also got a supplementary letter from a teacher who left the school after my junior year which was very good and a letter from my church employer which was excellent
  • Counselor Rec: not sure; hopefully good
  • Hook (if any): my dad graduated from brown in 1962 (he hasn’t given much money, however)

<p>I think you have a really good chance. Your application looks a lot like my D's and she was accepted ED last year.</p>
