i need advice from someone who knows a lot about cornell. I am a new york state resident and applied early decision to college of agriculture and life sciences at cornell. I just want to know if i have a chance or should i definitely start filling out my other applications for RD to other schools....

GPA: 3.3/3.4 unweighted at a competitive academically well known high school
SAT I: 1350
SAT II: Writing-720, Math IC-600 (retaking it next month)
Currently taking all honors including 4 AP courses this year and 1 AP last year
I'm assuming my recs are good (not to brag or anything I just happened to ask teachers who know me very well as a person and as a student)
Race: white/hispanic

Extra curriculars:
- Varsity field hockey grades 9-12 (Varsity Captain)- coach wrote me a rec.
- Varsity Track grades 9-12 (Pole vaulter)
- Went on a spanish exchange program last year
- Jobs: babysitting and tutoring elementary school children
- Hospital volunteer for 3 years

I switched schools during high school so will colleges acknowledge the difficult transition/ respect the fact that i adapt well to change? or will it hurt me in the admissions process?

Will my minority status/ state residency (because CALS is a state-funded college) give me an advantage?

Also, is my acceptance going to be affected by the major i selected: Food, Nutrition, and Agriculture? I've heard that some majors are more difficult to get into than others (in CALS it's probably biological sciences). I'm not sure about the one I selected.

Any input is greatly appreciated...thanks!!
