Applied ED to CALS---really nervous!! Do i have a chance?

i need advice from someone who knows a lot about cornell. I am a new york state resident and applied early decision to college of agriculture and life sciences at cornell. I just want to know if i have a chance or should i definitely start filling out my other applications for RD to other schools....

GPA: 3.3/3.4 unweighted at a competitive academically well known high school
SAT I: 1350
SAT II: Writing-720, Math IC-600 (retaking it next month)
Currently taking all honors including 4 AP courses this year and 1 AP last year
I'm assuming my recs are good (not to brag or anything I just happened to ask teachers who know me very well as a person and as a student)
Race: white/hispanic

Extra curriculars:
- Varsity field hockey grades 9-12 (Varsity Captain)- coach wrote me a rec.
- Varsity Track grades 9-12 (Pole vaulter)
- Went on a spanish exchange program last year
- Jobs: babysitting and tutoring elementary school children
- Hospital volunteer for 3 years

I switched schools during high school so will colleges acknowledge the difficult transition/ respect the fact that i adapt well to change? or will it hurt me in the admissions process?

Will my minority status/ state residency (because CALS is a state-funded college) give me an advantage?

Also, is my acceptance going to be affected by the major i selected: Food, Nutrition, and Agriculture? I've heard that some majors are more difficult to get into than others (in CALS it's probably biological sciences). I'm not sure about the one I selected.

Any input is greatly appreciated...thanks!!

I don't think anyone here can tell you whether you will make it or not, since we are not actual admission people, or at least most of us. I could say you will make it, you could get your hopes up, and then you don't make. I could say you won't make it, you get real bummed, and then you make it. None of us know. Just hope that since you want it bad enough to go ED, Cornell will notice, and they will like you and accept you, and until you find out accept or reject or deferred, focus on something else, good luck.

I hope you have a good chance because your stats are very similar to mine! I also applied ED to CALS...i don't know about your major but AEM and biology are by far the hardest to get into.

so your acceptance can depend on the major you selected?

hey. you have a pretty good chance...especially since your a ny state resident. that will help quite a bit. i applied ED last year too...i got deferred...be prepared for that to happen...Have your other applications ready to go...if you get deferred you still have to send them out! I know it sucks but you gotta do it. Also, if you don't get in after being deferred don't worry about it. That's what happened to me. I got a guaranteed transfer for junior year. I'm a freshman at a liberal arts college now and am applying for sophomore year as well. Either way I'll end up at cornell. If you really want it you'll get it. Good luck.
