I managed to apply for my daughter's PIN and put in the wrong birth year (this can happen when you are doing three kids at once, apparently). I actually got an email from them saying that all info had been verified with the IRS and did not know anything was wrong until her FAFSA would not submit (with the correct birth year on it). How can I fix this? I can not change birth year at the PIN registration website, and I am afraid to apply for a new PIN using the same SSN. HELP!

try this

https://pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/PINApplicationServlet?state=200&locale=en_US_PINApplication

put in the information that you put in to first set up the pin. once you get in, see if you can update the information

Already tried this, the birthdate field is not changeable

In case anyone else is as ditzy as me, basically my daughter had to go in with the incorrect birthdate, and then misanswer the security question enough times that the system shut her out, and then apply for a new pin number. Almost all the personal info can be changed, but not that.

good to know tozubri
I am lucky I haven’t made that mistake- my daughters birthdays are right next to each other- just 8 years apart. I have to think a min for who comes first.
