I don't know how I could have missed this, but I did. What a nightmare. I have applied, but almost two weeks past the deadline and now I am waitlisted. Have you been in this situation and what was your experience? Can anyone with housing management experience at UVA shed some light on what this might mean for me?

If you’re a first year student you are guaranteed housing
If you are an upperclassman, you should hunt sites like uloop if you want to live on grounds and take over someone’s contract, or else find off grounds housing

I am a Transfer student, btw. I really want to live on campus for the fist semester, is this likely?

There was somebody posting here just a week or two ago, trying to unload an upperclass housing contract in order to live off-grounds with friends–do a search and see if you might be able to help one another out.

I’m looking to get rid of my contract. Are you a male or a female?

I am female. I got an offer in Copeley, which seems like miles away. Where are you trying to relocate from?

Copeley is a 20 minute bus ride from grounds. Try and find a Lambeth contract or get off grounds housing. It will undoubtedly be closer to your classes than Copeley.

yeah you might as well live off grounds than there… unless it is cheaper??

It’s actually more expensive.

Uheights is probably still leasing! Check [Off-Grounds Housing Office at the University of Virginia](http://uvastudentcouncil.com/offgrounds/) for more places. If you are determined to live on grounds (honestly I don’t recommend it), you should be able to take over someone’s contract. I used to have a site that that listed these… but I can’t find it. Sorry.
