Applied Linguistics

Is there anybody on here who is applying to Applied Lingustics? I'm applying this fall.

hello!
if you mean ucla–perhaps
i’m going back and forth between app ling, spanish, and women’s studies–it’s so hard to decide on which one to doo!

I will apply as a linguistics major this fall
Hopefully I will be admitted to UCLA next year.

Yes, I mean Applied Linguistics at UCLA. They opened it for undergraduates beginig this fall. So you might check it out, maybe this is what you are looking for; if it’s not, at least you will have an alternative major that is similar to linguistics. Personaly, I think it’s better, since includes the core courses form that major, but also it’s more interdisciplinary. I’m very excited, good luck guys.

Hey Jeremy, I think you could make up your mind if you look at the big picture; in other words, try to see yourself and find out what you will be doing at the end of your studies. Do you want to be teaching? Do you want to be researching about anyting in particular? if so, what topic, or maybe you just want to go to graduate school but in a different major. This way, I think you will be able to choose the major that fits your best and also the one that gives you a better foundation for what you will need later. Good luck with your decision.
