Applied Maths and Economics double major

I was considering petitioning for a double major in Applied Mathematics and Economics.

The Economics department states that the requirements that would apply to me, accounting for the credit for which I am eligible, are as follows.

“ONE course or equivalent required of Introduction to Statistics:
*Statistics 20 or 21
*An upper division statistics course (Stats 131A, 134, or IEOR 172) is also acceptable
*Stat C8 and Stat 88 - BOTH courses must be taken concurrently for a total of six units. The letter grades in both classes will be used to determine admission to the major. (Approved fall 2015)”.

What, exactly, does this mean? Do I have to study STAT 20/21, Stats 131A/134/IEOR 172, STAT C8, and STAT 88? Or just one from the list, i.e., STAT 20?

For anyone who has majored in Applied Maths, Economics or both, is it possible to do so without having a ridiculous workload? I intend on doing an economics cluster for Applied Maths.

Thank you!

It means take one, ie take Stats 20 or 21, OR 131A or 134 or IEOR 172, OR C8 and Stat 88.

Any ONE (not all) of the following is needed for the economics major:

Statistics 20
Statistics 21
Statistics 131A
Statistics 134
IEOR 172
Statistics C8 and 88
