Applied Physics vs Engineering Physics

Are these two majors the same thing but just called one or the other at different uni's?

It all depends on the university. I considered that major for grad school because of it’s flexibility (allows a lot of non-physics courses). The programs are sometimes different when you compare universities and sometimes there are not. Now I only know about the grad programs. I think there is more distinction at the undergrad level.

I just know there was NO WAY I would have taken Engineering Physics at Cornell as a undergraduate. Six credits of electives only???

The grad engineering physics programs are usually Statistical Mechanics, Quantum Physics and a bunch of non-Physics electives from your selected area in CS, EE, CompE or MechE.
