I’ve been locked in the house since Thursday and my testing location for the Jan 23 SAT tests predictably cancelled. The testing date has been rescheduled to Feb 20. I was already told with the Jan 23 date that the subject test may get there too late for consideration, so I’m assuming taking the test Feb 20, with the score getting to Cornell early March, is waay too late.
Is it worth my time to take it? I would be taking the Bio M subject test, and this is the only missing part of my application. I have one subject test already in. I emailed my regional whatever for Cornell and the guy said they would match the score ASAP with my app when it came in but also that they would start evaluating applications without subject tests sometime in Feb. So if my score only gets there in March, but they’re reviewing my minus-one-subject-test application in Feb, it’s useless to take it!
I would also be missing a work day for this trail-work volunteer thingy I do and I would be kicked out of the program if I missed the Feb 20 work day to take the Feb 20 SAT. The program ends in May so I’d be missing most of it, and I’m realllly dedicated and passionate about it. I’m thinking to prioritize college over volunteering, but then that begs the question of would I even get into Cornell?!? I was differed ED from Duke. ACT 34/3.96 GPA/good recs, essays/good extracurriculars. White, female, divorced parents, live with my mom and two siblings. I got into the University of Michigan EA (!!!). I really liked my Cornell essay too.
Thoughts?
