Curiosity has led me to read some of the old threads about boarding school, and a few asked about transferring in senior year. That idea was quickly shot down ("only people who are good at sports can do that, tbh"), but a lot of the posters on the old threads said things like "Applying as a repeat junior is an option. Have you looked into that?"

Uh, what? Where I live, repeating a grade is pretty much the worst you can do. It pretty much says "you suck so bad that you can't move on". Of course, if it's mentioned so casually, I'm sure this isn't the case for boarding schools, but still. Does that happen a lot? Even if the school is more rigorous, wouldn't it get boring to be in the same grade all over again? I'm not very familiar with this whole boarding school thing; the only attempts I made to ask my parents about it in elementary school were met with "That's for people with money. We don't have money. No." and that was the end of it.

Also, what is a "post grad year"? Is that a special program? Another year of high school?
