I want to apply to a Computer Science and Engineering Major at UCLA, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley.

Any feedback would help me tremendously, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this thread!

Low SAT and SAT II scores…

SAT II is great, SAT I is about average for both schools. I think you’ll be find, with a good shot of getting into both depending on your essays.

Thank you both :)

Can you retake the SAT I? 690 in Math is really low for Berkeley Engineering, and your 770 in Math II tells me that you’re perfectly capable of pulling off an 800. EECS is really competitive, and I think it’d boost your chances significantly.

That being said, everything else looks really good. You’re a valedictorian, even. If you applied to the College of Letters and Sciences and then picked up Computer Science through there, I think that would be a better way of getting into Berk. They’re very similar majors, and I don’t think you’d face any problems getting into L&S. This is assuming you don’t want to retake the SAT, which I think would boost your total score up 110 points (seriously, you can get an 800 in Math I if you can get a 770 in Math II) and really help you.

With an SAT score up 100-150 pts, you could go to some Ivies, even.

Thank you  Yeah I can see what you mean with the low SAT 1 Math score… I did get a 35/36 on the math portion of the ACT though, does Berkeley prefer the SAT over the ACT?
