Apply EA for UChicago and NYU?

So I know that those who apply ED/EA for the Ivy Leagues are those who are super geniuses or super athletes or have some incredible EC that like 1% of the student population in the world has DX

But I would like to apply EA for UChicago and/or NYU (can I do both maybe or no since they're state universities?) and I'm wondering if the same thing applies to the EA for these top state universities.

I am not a super genius or a super athlete but I am pretty smart with good greats (3 Bs total, 2 from community college for French 2, and 1 from Chemistry when I just transferred to another high school), varsity tennis, and other stuff that are pretty common in the apps that are accepted into the upper tier colleges.

I'm not asking if I have a chance for doing EA for the college(s). I just want to know if EA for these two colleges is as competitive as those of schools like HYPS.

UChicago is pretty competitive. You sound like a great applicant for many schools. Best of luck!

Those are both private schools and NYU doesn’t have EA only ED.

They are private universities. NYU has only binding ED and thus if accepted you agree to attend. You can apply ED to only one college. Nevertheless, you can apply ED to NYU while also applying EA to UChicago. They are both highly ranked universities that take a low percentage of applicants and thus like others in that category, the admission process is very competitive.
