Apply Early or Boost Stats First?

Hello CCers!

As the deadline for one of my top choices, UNC Chapel Hill, approaches (Early Action- Oct 15 !) I am having serious second thoughts on when to submit my application. I would really like to attend UNC if I was accepted, but I am an out of state kid so my chances are difficult. Should I still apply EA or strengthen the quantitative side of my apps for the regular decision round?
