I'm thinking about applying to the CoE (probably bio) at UMich but not sure if I should apply early or wait for my SAT retake and then apply. I don't want to risk applying too early and then getting rejected with no more chance to reapply.

I'm OOS (Cali), Asian male. 2100 SAT, 3.66 UMich GPA.
Retaking SAT in Oct. for 2300, took twice before and got 2100 both times (second time I could hardly stay awake though because of a cold)

Summer: H Alg 2.
Sopho: AP World, H Eng, H Pre Calc
Summer: H US History
Junior: AP Calc BC, AP Phys C, AP Eng Lang
Senior: AP Bio, AP Stat, AP CS, AP Gov&MacroEcon, AP Eng Lit

Also, does UMich consider my H Alg 2 class when calculating the GPA? I took it the summer between 9th and 10th.
And does UMich consider Marching Band and Symphonic Band when calculating the GPA?

You should definitely retake the sat because your umich gpa is below average and your oos. Although, if I were you, I would still apply as early as you can and then just send them your updated scores when you get them.

But with their rolling admissions, if you apply early and you don't make it would they just defer you or would they outright reject you? Because if they reject, then I wouldn't even have a chance to send in the updated SAT

Probably not, if your other stats are good (and judging from what I saw in your other thread, I'd say you'll get deferred to start with, probably not rejected outright).

And glock, I suggest you apply early, then send in your SAT scores once you get them (they will revaluate once they get your new scores if they don't accept you at the beginning). I applied early this year and got deferred with a 3.65 UM GPA + 31 ACT (instate, and legacy, and really good ECs). Quite surprising really, but after they got my new scores they accepted me a mere 4 ish weeks after deferring me.

yes and no. apply before a certain date and hear by december 21st. it's called early response, because you're guarenteed either an acceptance, rejection, or defferral. if you don't apply by the set date, which I forget, it's still rolling.
