apply ed2 and still apply rd ?

lets say i apply ed2 to a college and get accepted. would it be aloowed for me to not withdraw one of my regular applications in the hopes of beig offerd a gt.(i realize i cannot accept addmission to any other college)

yeah- there is no reason why you can't apply regular. Thought if you do get in regular decision you still have to go with your early decision choice since it is binding.

The agreement you sign when you apply ED says that you will withdraw ALL outstanding applications. What would be the point of not withdrawing an application if you can't attend any way??

entomom is correct.

If accepted ED to a school, you must withdraw all your other applications.

At that point, you are done - you are going to the ED school (unless their financial aid package is unsatisfactory - but that is a whole other story).

maybe itd be better if i rephrased my question, consider the following scenario

I apply ed1 to school A(School A happens to be known for giving guarenteed transfers) and then get deffered. School B happens to be my seond choice, but i happen to like it almost as much as school A. since i was deffered ed1 from school A, i highly doubt i'd be accepted in the regular decision round, but i still find it a possibility that i'd be offerd a guarenteed transfer. If i get accepted to school B and recieve a guarenteed transfer from school A, i'm not sure if i'd use the guarenteed transfer, but it would still be a nice option.

If i after being deffered by school A ED1 then applied and was accepted by school B ED2, would i forfeit my right to see if school A would offer me a guarenteed transfer?

sorry if this is confusing but i cant think of an easier way to ask this

Well if you get accepted to B then you wouldn't be able to GT even if you got into school A because ED is binding.

^yea, but GT is after one year at another school.....so he could technically go to the ED2 school for a year, and then GT to let's say, Cornell...haha....this is a very interesting scenario, OP....I think someone at a higher level than I should post an answer....maybe PM soozievt (she's a college counselor).

Is this the final version of your question ;)? Yes, you would forfeit your right to any RD school (this includes your ED1 that rolled over to RD when you were deferred) when you are accepted to your ED2 school.

When you apply EDwhatever you're NOT getting something for nothing.
