If I want to apply for housing on the UCB admit page, Do I have I accept their offer first???? I recall that for UCSD you could do It even when you hadn;t submitted the SIR. But how does it work for UCB??? It says that you have to pay 20 dollars to submit the form online, but is that after you accept the offer?????? If I wait till I submit the SIR, Does that decrease my chance of getting a single for housing??

Yes, if you submit after May 1st you will not be guaranteed housing.

So even if I haven;t submitted the SIR yet, I should pay the 20 dollars and apply for housing????

You need your student id number to apply for housing, aka you need to submit your SIR first.

i thought fall frosh can't get singles either?
or is it just us FPFers?

if you are a freshmen, I can almost guarantee you that you're not gonna get a single. It's kinda a wasted space in your top 5 preferences list.

When do we get notified of our housing assignment?

I completed the app but no billing has shown up in my account yet... it has been about a week... hmm. Anyone else experience this?

BTW can an FPFer request to be a roommate with a friend who is a Fall admit

i would imagine so.

I was able to log into the housing application by entering my CalNet ID & password, but when I scrolled down, I saw this:

"Housing contracts for newly-admitted students are sent only to students who have submitted their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Berkeley by the deadline."

So I guess u need to submit ur SIR first.

haha, obviously.

Thanks guys. By the way someone said that freshmens don;t get singles??? Why is that?? and would you rather live in the dorms or rent an apartment outside the campus???
How would you know which dorms are better???( there was a list of names on the housing application..)

i applied for housing THEN did my sir, so i dont think it matters. they just wont send a contract until after...
