<p>I was wondering if it is possible to put a deposit down so you can make housing choices (sooner), even if you haven't said you will be going to that school. You just want to put the money down to guarantee housing or what not. Fyi, I'm not asking for 2007 but 2008. </p>

<p>Yes you can! Be sure to ask whether it is refundable or not. Some schools refund, some don't. It's a pretty common practice.</p>
<p>Yes, we sent in $100 to the sch. S was pretty sure he was going to as soon as the acceptance came in. That way he was able to send in his housing request really early and got his first choice dorm.</p>

<p>If not stipulated on the respective website, call the Housing or Residential Life office. </p>
<p>Or better still, email the appropriate office. This way you'd have a written response if there was a problem down the road.</p>
