Apply Texas Activities Section - vs.- resume

I am applying to UT plan 2. I am required to send an extended resume through the MyStatus portal after I submit my Apply Texas application. I was wondering if it is required (or better) to fill out the activities section on ApplyTexas, or if it is fine to just check the box saying I am submitting a separate resume instead and send my extended resume in the portal later, without filling out the Apply Texas section.

I’m basically asking if we have to do both the expanded resume and the Apply Texas activities section, or if we can just send the expanded.
