Apply to only 1 Ivy?

I heard from a few different people that its good to only apply to 1 maybe 2 Ivys...... I am a HS Senior looking to study psychology, so far Cornell has struck the most interest me but I like Yale and Dartmouth as well (I am from CT so I like the closeness as well. I am also planning on applying to Brandeis, Bowdoin, Stonehill, Marist, Connecticut College, Fordham, and UConn ). But is it true that you should only apply to 1 Ivy..... and if so which is the best for psychology?

There is no reason to limit your applications to one ivy. Just make sure your list includes match and safety schools.

OK, I have just heard that Ivy admission offices confer with one another and so they'll know if someone applies to like 6 Ivys... is this true?

No, that's not true at all. They won't tell anyone else who applies there, unless they admit you early decision. People shouldn't apply to 6 ivy league schools just because that's something that total jerks do.

There is a thread about this topic in College Admissions.

They don't know at all. You should apply to all three if they interest you.

Hi again shamrock...ya apply to multiple ones, there is no disadvantage (besides cost of app and time to fill them out :) )

ivies used to be able to compare but it is now illegal!!! This changed recently sao a lot of people are unaware. So the only disadvantage is doing all the apps and paying all the money

shamrock197,
Apply to Yale, Dartmouth and Cornell.
Give YOURSELF the opportunity to decide later.
