Apply to undergraduate business school

My son wants to study business. He will be applying to several schools for business undergraduate programs. Schools include NYU Stern, USC Marshall, UPenn Wharton, UCB Hass plus others. I know the schools I have listed are really hard to get into. As I understand it, if he doesn't get into the business program, he doesn't get into the college. I know this is true about some of the schools but not sure if it's true with all of them.
Can anyone suggest any good business schools on the West Coast?
Can anyone give me more information?
Thanks.

raffles,
You might also want to start a thread on the Business Major subforum.

West Coast - not the caliber of the ones you already listed, but some alternatives:
Santa Clara University
Barrett’s Honors College/Carey School of Business
University of Washington Foster School of Business (for most you have to apply to get in after 1 or 2 years of undergrad)

For UCB, you have to apply to Haas again in your sophomore year. So your admission to UCB has little to do with your major.

You may wanna look at UC-Irvine with its new undergraduate business program, since you can apply there with the same application.
