apply to where else?

So what can you tell us about your experience at the Citadel?

yeah adam219, i have a couple questions...what's your dawgmail email? (yeah, i know some ;) )

The Citadel is without a doubt the hardest military school in the country for the freshman (or Knob). The system lasts nine months long and is very grueling. You talk in the third person your entire freshman year. Also, the position of attention is an exagerated form known as "bracing" where the chin is pulled in and the soldiers back. As a knob, you sit at attention at all three meals throughout the day and are not allowed to talk unless spoken to. You will see a lot of bad leadership as well as good leadership here. In terms of the ROTC department, it is one of the best in the country. Overall, it is a great school but it is no service academy in many obvious aspects.

vcm2007- I'd rather have you give me your email for confidential reasons. (If you don't mind.)

adam219, you forgot about walkin 120 steps a minute...i kno the whole knob year deal. during 2nd semester, after recognition day, you're finally a human being again...lol.

well, my email is v.c.miranda@gmail.com....don't abuse my inbox, please.

i kno all this cuz i have a few friends in Citadel. one's a knob, and the ohter, ironically, is his sergeant.

Knob: Roberto Martinez
2nd Classman: John McComas (highest ranking junior...maybe you know him?)

they went to the same high school i'm in, too. pretty funny.

Navgirl

WoW! Very impressive indeed. If you get accepted to Princeton, Stanford and UNC, you'll really have a difficult decision to make or are you leaning toward one more than another?

sempergumby,
Where's your school list?

Navgirl,
Stanford (the Farm) is fantastic!

wstcoastmom is absolutely right, Stanford is fantastic!

USNA- appointment and going

Bates
Bowdoin

Cornell

Still weighing all my options so far, sempergumby. Too bad I can't visit Stanford, but there's just no time. I would LOVE to see the campus! It would be so awesome to have to choose between them all, but I don't think it's very realistic.
