Hey guys,
I have a couple of questions regarding application to Clemson, which I plan on completing soon.

If accepted, I would like to major in some sort of Engineering (not sure yet). Is it easier to get in if I apply undecided? Or should I just apply as declared Engineering? My GPA is 3.8 uw and 4.61 w, but I have low SATs of 1240/1870. I'm just looking to improve my chances of being accepted. Oh! I'm out of state by the way.

I read on the scholarships page that they award out of state scholarships if the student is in top 10% and has at least a 1250 M/CR score. I'm in the 10% but I have a 1240! Is there any chance of a scholarship of this kind?

Take the SAT again and try and bump up your score! Shouldn’t be too difficult since you are only 10 points away

I wouldn’t put too much weight into selecting a major that is “easy” to get into just to make it easier to get accepted. Just apply for engineering. I think you’ve got a good shot with your grades and SAT score

Thanks for the reply! I’m pretty sure that I’m unable to retake it, but I’ll worry about the scholarship if I’m accepted. I have another question: Does Clemson accept/require letters of recommendation? I just applied and checked out Clemson’s “checklist”, but I can’t find anything of letters of recs. I would like to double check. Thanks!

Nope! Clemson doesn’t require letters of recommendation ( you can send them in if you want but mostly they are worried about your high school record and SAT/ACT scores)
