I'm a Spanish student, I have really good marks and I have been doing a lot of extracurricular works. This year I wanted to apply to Harvard, but because of some familiar problems I haven't been able to do it. Now my idea is to apply to harvard 2015, taking a gap year. In this gap year I would attend to a spanish university and after that, instead of doing as a transfer student, I would apply as a freshman to harvard. Is this possible? And if it is possible how should I fullfill my mid-year school report?

<p>You cannot re-apply to Harvard as a freshman after entering into any university. Once you have started taking classes of any sort you qualify as a transfer student. </p>
<p>However, applying after a gap year could be great for both you and your application. I am currently on a gap year and applied to college again (including Harvard). I also have TONS of friends who are on gap years (some reapplied, some just deferred a year). Gap years are amazing ways to recharge and pursue something you many not have had time to do in high school. If money isn’t an issue, there are many programs you could pay to do. If it is (like it was for me), you could simply work to save money and then travel. There really are a ton of options.</p>
<p>I had written to Yale yesterday and I have recived their answer now. In their reply they say me that it is certainly possible. It would be possible that some colleges accept it and other ones no???</p>

“This is certainly possible. Use the mid-year report to send your first semester college grades.”</p>

<p>I’m really interested in this thread. I am in a similar situation, except I’ve finished my gap year this feb and am currently taking some classes at my local uni as a part time student. I have applied to a bunch of
US colleges, but so far have been waitlisted only. It’d be great if I could send in my first semester grades and a recommendation from my lecturer. Not sure though if I am allowed to do it though. </p>
<p>My friend, who just graduated from princeton, was also taking classes at the same local uni before April 1. So maybe we can do this.</p>
