If a candidate has been admitted to a school with early action, should he apply to other colleges for regular decision?
Can the other colleges find out that he has already been admitted to a university, and if so, will that negatively affect the outcome in any way?
After being admitted Early Action? Depends on whether you’re happy with the school you’re admitted to or want to try for something else. And no, it doesn’t matter that you were already admitted somewhere: It’s assumed you’re applying to more than one place, and may have applied early where applicable.
After being admitted Early Decision? No. Because you signed an agreement not to.
Yes, early action. But will other places find out I was admitted to somewhere else and assume that I applied to their college as a back-up and reject me?
Yes, absolutely (unless that EA school is really your first choice).
Definitely not!
