I am taking a gap year this year, and will probably apply for upenn in the fall. I applied for upenn last year, but was rejected. How would these 2 things - my being previously rejected and taking gap year - affect my present application?

Just wondering, you have a college to go to in case you get rejected right?

I am personally against gap years. When I heard about princeton’s new policy, I really thought that was the stupidest thing I’d ever heard.

That said, gap years can make sense in cases like yours. Do something meaningful during that gap year, so that you’re ready to jump in once you get here. Do research or something you’re interested in and see how you can make the best use of Penn’s incredible opportunities.

If you make the year meaningful, then you could be ready to jump into Penn and take full advantage of the four years before you. If you’ll do that, then it might just be a brilliant decision.

diddo sb. go for it johnQ get a research job or do research with someone in yr field of interest. make penn beg to have u. (and try to make sure yr research can be continued @ penn so that u can pick up where u left off)
