Let's say that you got rejected/waitlisted at your top choice school and chose not to go to other schools that you applied.
YOu wish to go to that school SO BADLY that you decide to apply for that school again next year.
Will that help your chances of getting in??
Or not?

If you did as well or better with your grades, revved up your ec's, stayed the same or bettered your SSAT's, etc. AND indicated on the app that you had applied the previous year and were applying again this year because this is really the only school you want to go to....pause for breath.....they might take a little closer look at your app. (particularly if you were competitive for admission the first year). This is just my opinion and what I would tell my child.

It is up to you honestly, if you really don't like the other schools you applied to, you should wait just one more year, or just apply to other schools, I'm assuming "Rolling Admissions." :)

Ah.. Thank you.
