Which is better - applying Early Decision to Columbia University with roughly a 2000 in super score, an average US History subject test score, and a very low Math II subject test score, or regular decision with better Math subject test scores? Also note that I have legacy status, am Asian, have standard EC's for Ivy Leagues, and average/tier 2 level GPA/grades.

conventional wisdom for most schools is that if your scores are not comfortably within the mid 50% of admitted students, and even with your legacy status, then you risk being rejected in the early round.

I’d probably advise for you NOT to apply ED and go RD after your SAT/SAT2 retake. Good luck.

I will consider that heavily. Thank you.

I think you need to retake BOTH your SAT and subject tests. Aim for at least 2300 and at least one 800 on your subject test. RD is going to be tougher.
