so i am at a community college i graduated in 09 but schools are not accepting lower division applicants for fall 2010. if i apply as a freshman student who took a year off from high school and dont list my community college can i do that?

No.

When you apply for admission to any accredited college or university in the US, you must provide official copies of transcripts from every single accredited university, college, and community college that you have ever attended in the US. Even if all you took was one class.

Read the websites of the colleges/universities where you want to apply to find out how many credits make you a transfer student. If you will have taken fewer than that number of credits before you start at the new school, you may be able to apply as a freshman. However, you still will need to submit your community college transcripts.

If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to just pick up the telephone and call the admissions offices. It’s their job to answer questions.

Good luck!
