I am applying as a high school junior to Stanford EA or Yale EA.
They are both my favourite schools and I don't know which to choose.
My SATs are in Otc and Nov ,so I don't know what they'll be like.
1.Stanford requires much more essays in such limited time while Yale requires fewer essays but TOEFL and interview.
2.Yale admins said that they rarely have junior applicants and they suggest students to finish high school while stanford welcome high school juniors.
3.Also,from CC and my friends It seems that this year Stanford EA applicants are much stronger and more competitive than yale(I mean average) while Yale seems to be larger in amount.
I really don't know which one I should apply to.
I hope to major in chemistry, biology, economics or applied math.(everything is OK except pre-med)
And I am a female from mainland China.
Some advices~Thank you

Hey there, Stanford would be the college. They are used to working with younger students. They have an online high school for gifted students. If you feel like you would like another year you might want to check it out. It's called EPGY. So, Stanford is prepared to handle high school early entrants. Yale is a great school, but I think that being on the young side would work against you there. Also, you would need to be street smart to navigate New Haven. It can be dicey in areas. Palo Alto is very quiet, safe, and would be a nice place to transistion in from China.

Hi from a yalie! It's true that it's uncommon for high school juniors to come here, but i don't think that would be particularly problematic seeing as you're coming from a different educational system anyway. You might want to check if there's any specific disadvantage to applying to yale as a junior, if not i'd say either is an equal possibility.

I wouldn't agree at all that stanford applicants are any stronger or weaker than yale applicants... in fact i know a very large number of yalies who also applied to stanford. With the changes in early application at princeton and harvard, it's tough to tell which school is going to get what number of applications.

Also cameron may be misleading you a bit about new haven. As a prospective yalie i heard lots of criticism of new haven, and assertations that it was a dangerous city. Now that i live here i know that the yale campus is beautiful and as safe as any other city campus. It's true that there are "dicey" areas of New Haven, but those areas are far away from central campus and you barely end up spending any time there unless you do some sort of a community outreach program. In short, New Haven is just as safe as any city; you have to think smart, but as long as you do you'll be fine.

can't you not do EA at Stanford if you're doing SCEA at Yale?

You can't do SCEA at Yale and do EA at Stanford. OP is choosing between the two. I agree with kwi that Yale doesn't take a lot of juniors; I didn't know any when I was there and didn't hear about any. Also agree with kwi that you have no reason to be in the dicey areas of New Haven unless you're volunteering, so don't let Cameron scare you off. Yale has a long and impressive history with China. If you intend to return, you might want to consider how Yale name as opposed to the Stanford name will help you. There may not be a difference, but I've always thought Yale and China have a special relationship.

oh sorry, I read it really quickly and I thought she said "and" not "or"

Thank you.
Stanford is also SCEA.
I didn't mean the campus, they are both good for me.
I am just talking about the possibility to get in one of them.
Stanford SCEA or Yale SCEA.
or RD(but I really hope to get a result by the end of this year to decide whether to continue RD or to get back to my Chinese national college entrance exam)
you know 4 months is a long time..
