I'm a transfer student from a community college applying UCLA as a CHEM major. I have my IGETC covered and almost all my major courses except the physics classes. My question: would my application be rejected since I have not fulfilled the physics courses listed by UCLA or can I just take them there after being admitted? I did not complete them since I was a Bio major before and just recently changed my major. I can still apply as Bio and change to Chemistry once I'm there but I don't want to go through the entire process of changing + paying for useless courses.

I am in a similar boat, Civil Engineering who is behind one class both in Physics and Chem, but not because I changed major but becuase budget cuts have been so hard on my school that I genuinely couldn’t get even on a waiting list for the classes I needed. so upsetting

The priority of classes is Eng. & Math > Major classes > IGETC. If you were only missing maybe a few GE non-major classes, then it probably wouldn’t impact your application much. The fact is, you’re missing physics, which I assume is a major-required class, for a highly competitive UC which puts you at a disadvantage against other applications who have the course completed.
Actually my mistake, I don’t know if physics is a major-required class for chem.
If physics is a major-required class, then you have a lower chance of being admitted with your chance of admittance being dependent on how impacted your major is. If it isn’t a major-required class, then it’s not as big of a deal.
