Applying as a: repeat 9th grader VS tenth grader

which will be better?
i know it depends on each person
but if i apply as a repeat 9th grader/tenth grader,
would it affect my chances either way?
if so, would it be good or bad?

It also depends on the school. Some schools, like Groton & St. Andrews, have very, very few spaces for 10th graders, as compared to other schools.

Don’t waste a year of your life…

There is a fair proportion of repeats at the most selective schools-- both girls & boys-- so fitting in is not a problem. Also, the schools will place u in level-appropriate classes, so u will likely not be ‘wasting a year of your life’ repeating all the same material.

Cost is a big issue. You’ll be looking at paying for an add’l year-- ouch!

The decision to repeat does not need to be made in a vacuum. Why not simply bring up the issue at your interview and ask the AO what he/she would recommend for you as the best route?

^^^^That!
