<p>I know Duke is extremely diverse in terms of ethnicity. I was wondering, as a southern school, if it would be advantageous during admissions for me to be Vietnamese. Or would i be considered an ORM to Duke? </p>

<p>It doesn’t matter if it’s a “southern school”- look at the racial composition. Asians occupy a large chunk.</p>
<p>The way you phrased that (“if it would be advantageous… for me to be Vietnamese”) makes it sound like you are saying you can choose what you are. Don’t read too much into it outside of the 3 obvious URMs and just put down whatever you actually are. (even if we all secretly wish we were a URM)</p>
