Applying as Science Major but Struggling Honors Physics

I am currently a senior at a competitive high school in NJ, and my current grade in Honors Physics after 3 quizzes and a test is a B- (79.5 to be exact). I have four other AP classes in addition to this (AP English Literature, AP Macro, AP Stat, and AP Spanish Language). I have never taken a non honors/AP science in high school and wanted to apply as a biology major (I took AP Bio junior year). However, my physics grade just keeps on dropping and I am starting to get worried. At my school, the difference between academic and honors physics is drastic, and I was wondering if you think its a good idea for me to drop honors physics and go to academic physics. If I tried extra hard, and maybe got a tutor, realistically I don’t think I would be able to get my grade past an 85. I have gotten Bs in math and science classes before, but I feel like putting that much time into physics would result in less effort on college apps and other subjects.I also am applying to schools as a science major and was wondering if dropping the class would hurt my chances.

I would only drop it if you feel like you can’t keep your grade at a B. If you are applying early to your top choices then definitely keep it since colleges won’t see your Q1 grades.
If you are worried your grade might drop to a C or if its taking away from other activities. If physics H in your school is anything like mine then it is brutal lol.

I think whatever you choose to do won’t really make a difference in decisions but a C senior year will.

Agree with the above poster apply early where ever possible. By the time you get accepted even if you have a C for the year you would not be rescinded for 1 C.
