Applying at FSU [Prospective 2012 Spring Student]

Hello fellow CC members,

I've started my application to be accepted at FSU for the spring semester next year (2012), how long does it normally take before you know you're accepted or not?

Also I'm completing my AA-PSYCH degree at a community college, would I be considered based on having already completed my AA degree or would I be considered based on GPA, SAT, ACT, etc.. scores? Just curious as to what I'll be in for.

I’m pretty sure that if you have an AA degree that’s what they use to consider your transfer. They will use your high school grades and SAT/ACT information as well as your college grades if you transfer without a degree.

GOOD LUCK!

Oh thank you for the reply : )

Unfortunately I never took the SAT/ACT in high school so I’m out of luck there. I’m just worried that with my AA - I’ll be competing against all of these incoming freshmen and transfer students from all over the nation/world. :/

Easier to get in with an AA, and you are not competing against freshmen.

Thank you sunnyflorida for the reply : )

I am an in state high school senior with a 3.23 gpa probably around 3.4 weighted, lots of honors courses, 600 math SAT, 560 critical reading, 480 on the writing (I know it’s not great), 150 hours of comm serv, some in school activities but not a lot, guitar player extraordinaire (I know) dual enrollment for the fall of my senior year. I did the tour and was blown away by FSU. It’s my number one choice but I wonder if I even stack up.

You do not have the minimum score on writing to qualify for admission. Retake the SAT or take the ACT. You need a 500 on SAT writing or 21 on ACT. There is no wiggle room. Your application will not be considered without the minimum requirements. Good luck on the retake!
