I'm applying to a few of the Big Four companies for consulting positions. As my major GPA is MUCH higher than my overall GPA, I've played that up on my resume. I've been completely honest that it is my major GPA but my question is: will they eventually ask for transcripts and do they want official or unofficial? I do have a few Ds in science classes that I would rather they not see!

Science classes are unrelated to business majors so you should be fine. Be prepared to give an explanation if they ask. I had one C in a major accounting class but my GPA was high enough 3.69. I don’t think they even bothered to scrutinize my transcript. For accounting majors going into audit or tax in the big 4, the way to get an internship offer is the recruiting process of socials, dinners and meet the firms. It’s not just impressing one person at one interview. The best way to get an internship with the big 4 is to get yourself in front of the recruiters as often as you can, make a good impression and if they like you and think you’re a great, a couple of Ds in science classes will not matter.

They also expect that you may not have an official transcript so an unofficial transcript is fine too. If you’re worried, talk to an advisor or career counselor if you school has one on campus. If not a professor in one of your major classes will help too. People on College Confidential don’t know you personally and can only help as much you offer about yourself.
